The Summer Challenges are an exciting series of untimed excursions, where you get to decide on the distance, the pace and the number of climbs and descents. Challenge yourself as much as you want, depending on your level of fitness or energy - or your mood on the day of the event!

Take Highway 15 North.
 
FROM QUÉBEC CITY
Take Highway 40 West, then the 640 West, and then the 15 North.
 
Take exit 60 towards Route 364 for Saint-Sauver/Morin-Heights/Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard. Turn left on Robert road. Keep your right towards Route 364. Once you have passed Morin-Heights city center turn left on Bennett street towards Sommet Morin Heights. Follow the road until you arrive to the parking lot.
 
Street parking will also be available. Please follow the indication of the agent on location while respecting road signs.
 
Note: To ensure the comfort of all cyclists on the road please follow the above instructions, and not the one indicated by a GPS system to reach the starting site.

This year’s late-season classic leaves from Bromont, montagne d’expériences, offering a beautiful panorama of the surrounding farmland. You will pedal through several vineyards and follow the Yamaska River with the neighbouring mountains in full view.

Registration fees include

Schedule

Itineraries: 50, 75, 100, 125 or 150 km
Departure: Start between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and bike at your own pace
Lunch: rest area or finish site?
You can make this choice when you register, up to 5 days before the Challenge. After this deadline, your lunch will be provided at the rest area that accommodates cyclists from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On the 50-km route, the box lunch will distributed only at the finish site.

NEW Interested in mountain biking?
Experience the thrill during the Summer Challenges!

Vélo Québec proposes that you take advantage of the facilities of Morin-Heights and Bromont, montagne d’expériences to experience a guided mountain biking tour.

The proposed experience includes a pre-departure preparatory session (bike adjustment, gear change, suspension, brakes, etc.), supervision (ratio of one guide per 10-15 participants), ski lifts (at Bromont), a box lunch and entertainment at the finish site.

Rates (taxes included): $80 adult / $40 for ages 17 and under (N.B. ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult). Mountain bike not included. Bike rental by reservation only.

9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.: trip to Basler Park (±1,5 km). Demonstration and practice of basic techniques on a skill-testing obstacle course (turning, braking, sharp descent and steep slope, changing position according to terrain and obstacles, etc.)
 
10:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.: snack break
 
11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: 15 km guided tour along the trails of Basler Park and lunch

2 levels of difficulty: beginner or intermediate
SCHEDULE
9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.: reception and initiation (teaching segment and safe progression)
 
10:15 a.m. to ± 1:15 p.m. for the beginner group: 15-km tour in the C-1 (municipal trails skirting the mountain), 1 ski lift and lunch
 
10:15 a.m. to ± 2 p.m. for the intermediate group: 25-km tour (Ski Bromont trails and municipal trails, exploration of Mount Oak), 2 ski lifts and lunch
