In 2013, I’ll do my OWN Tour!

“During this bike-crazy week, drinking on the road is permitted, the legal driving age has been abolished and no training is required! We’re obviously at the Montréal Bike Fest! In fact, drinking is recommended in order to stay hydrated and make the most of the cycling events. Children, whom we love to see physically active, can ‘drive’ by pedalling in the street. As for training, there’s no need: this is not a competition - just thousands of people coming together for the pleasure of biking according to their own tastes and motivations.”
— Sébastien Delorme, comedian and spokesman for the Montréal Bike Fest

Kids in motion - priceless!
This year, kids 12 years and under ride for free in the Tour la Nuit and the Tour de l’Île de Montréal. This initiative of Vélo Québec is designed to encourage sports among young people and meet the challenge launched by the Québec government to fight sedentarism.

Suzanne Lareau, President and CEO of Vélo Québec: “Our gym is the city. Our training program comprises our daily commutes. Our Olympic games are the days when thousands of people take part in a sporting event like the Tour de l’Île de Montréal. By motivating all these participants to invade the city streets, we are also inspiring them to adopt urban biking as a mode of transportation.” See Suzanne Lareau's video »
