The Montréal Bike Fest – The 20th annual Tour de l’Île — Love makes you feels so young—20 even
>> by Le Tour de l'Île de Montréal
Montréal, June 6, 2004 – To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Tour de l’Île de Montréal invites you to take a unique ride on a 45-km route that is more accessible than ever. This special edition will be particularly lively, thanks to entertainers like Ben Charest, who will greet the 30,000 participants at the start line with music from The Triplets of Belleville.

The 20th annual Tour de l’Île will bring the Bike Fest to a very exciting conclusion. A looped route will lead you through some most beautiful downtown neighbourhoods to the enchanting waterfront of Lachine, LaSalle and Verdun. An indispensable and incomparable event, the Tour de l'Île will celebrate its 20th birthday with all the fervour, enthusiasm, wildness and passion of youth!

Actor Karine Vanasse will sound the start signal at 9:15 a.m. near Laurier Park, at the corner of Saint-Joseph Boulevard and Rue Christophe-Colomb. The 30,000 cyclists will pass through 15 Montréal boroughs, and 2,600 volunteers will help ensure that the 20th Tour is a very memorable milestone!

Presented by the Dairy Farmers of Canada, the Montréal Bike Fest is organized by the Corporation du Tour de l’Île de Montréal, a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve quality of life and the environment by staging cycling events and arranging bicycle trips. The Fest contributes to Montréal's festive atmosphere, making the city a more attractive place to live and visit.
