The Tour is reinventing itself…

The Tour de l’Île has modified its format and registration conditions in order to adapt to the current context. This year’s Tour will definitely be different, but the exhilaration of pedalling through car-free streets will be the same as ever.

Between now and the Tour, we will be monitoring the health situation and making the required adjustments in order to respect public health guidelines.

A 33-km party in motion

The Tour de l’Île will take the form of a 33 km car-free ambulatory route through the streets of 8 Montréal boroughs. The route will be completely closed to motorists for the duration of the event – from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – so that you can finish your loop in the same place you started.

Choice of start location and time

To ensure the smooth flow of cyclist traffic and proper distancing throughout the 33 km, there will be no specific start/finish site. When registering, you will have to choose a start site from the 8 access points along the route, as well as a start time between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Of the 8 access points where you can start and finish, only three parks – La Fontaine, Champdoré and Maisonneuve – will offer the following services for cyclists: toilets, water, handwashing stations, INFO booth and first aid.

Pleasant and safe experience

Any aspect of the excursion related to the notion of getting together has been put aside so that you can experience and enjoy what matters most: biking freely along a car-free route in a very safe environment.

The natural virtues of biking – outdoor activity, observed two-meter physical distancing – combined with a 33 km route, will make for a unique Sunday cycling experience!

Along the route

To provide encouragement and brighten up your excursion, our partners will join in the fun. Along your route, you will encounter Lait au chocolate and surprise activities presented by Desjardins, including a unique ride into the Olympic Stadium.

In the 3 parks designated as access points with services – La Fontaine, Champdoré and Maisonneuve – you will be able to use the rest areas to picnic with your family and friends and access the services offered.

Have a mechanical problem? Sports Experts mobile mechanics will be biking on the route and volunteers assigned to bike mechanics and first aid will also be there to help you. Questions? Go to the INFO booth in an access point with services.
