In the United States, almost a third of the population does not have a driver's license. For many, this is not a choice: they are disabled, low-income, homeless, formerly incarcerated, undocumented immigrants, young or old. Invisibilized by a transportation system centered almost exclusively on the car, these people - some «involuntary non-drivers» - face many obstacles every day in getting around, accessing essential services, or simply participating in society.
At this conference, Anna Zivarts will highlight these often overlooked realities and present an inclusive vision of mobility. By rethinking our infrastructures to meet the needs of those who don't drive, we can build more inclusive communities. accessible, sustainable and fair.
