Metropolitan Challenge
SATURDAY
Done
July 31 2021 Châteauguay

To wind up the month of July, the Metropolitan Challenge invites you to pedal an untimed route of 50 to 140 km at your own pace, based on your level of fitness level and your mood. Leaving from Châteauguay, discover another sector of the greater metropolitan region.

The Challenge is reinventing itself…

The Metropolitan Challenge has modified its format and registration conditions in order to adapt to the current context. This year’s Tour will definitely be different, but the joy of biking will be the same.

Between now and the Challenge, we will be monitoring the health situation and making the required adjustments in order to respect public health guidelines.

Choice of start time

To ensure the smooth flow of cyclist traffic and proper distancing throughout the route, there will be no specific start/finish site. When registering, you will have to choose – when registering – a start time between 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

At the start/finish site, you will access the following services: toilets, water, handwashing stations, first aid, mechanical et INFO booths.

Pleasant and safe experience

Any aspect of the excursion related to the notion of getting together has been put aside so that you can experience and enjoy what matters most: biking freely along a route in a very safe environment.

The natural virtues of biking – outdoor activity, observed two-meter physical distancing – combined with a route of up to 140 km, will make for a unique Saturday cycling experience!

On the route

Depending on your level of fitness or energy of the day, choose the right itinerary for you – 50 to 140 km. A few days before the Challenge, you will receive an email with the final update of the itineraries, available on Ride with GPS.

Services included: route signage, on-road professional support (mechanical and first aid) and relief vehicles.

In case of problems along the route? Our volunteer mechanics and first aid will be there to help you. Unable to complete the route? Relief vehicles will drive you to the finish site. To obtain information? Go to the information booth at the start/finish site.

Lunchtime Rest Area

Once registered, you will receive a bracelet by mail wich gives you access to your lunch box at the lunchtime rest area or the finish site, a choice you make when you register. On the 47-km route, the lunch box will be distributed only at the finish site.

Offered services at the lunchtime rest area, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.: lunch box, water, toilets, first aid services, mechanical assistance.

Itineraries: 47, 80, 103 or 138 km

Preliminary route subject to change. Start: Châteauguay

Different format, revised registration conditions

The registration conditions for the event have been revised in order to comply with current public health measures.

  • Online registration possible until the maximum number of cyclists is reached.
  • First come, first served for the choice of time.
  • When registering, you must choose your start time among 5 time slots: 7 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 8 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 9 a.m, and 9:30 a.m.
