Route and Signage Manager - Discovery, Go vélo Montréal

We're looking for a Manager for the Island Discovery Tour and signage for the Go vélo Montréal Festival. The mandate is for a 5-week period, from May 4 to June 5 (full-time, 35h/week, Monday to Friday, except during the Festival). 

Salary offered for this contract: 23.37$/hr.

Job summary

Under the supervision of the chief coordinator, the person is responsible for the Tour de l'Île Découverte route (extension of the Tour de l'Île route) and participates in the preparation of signage and the execution of the event.

General responsibilities
  • Support the logistics coordinator in organizing the regular Tour de l'île and discovery trails;
  • Produce listings and transit times;
  • Develop and produce the required information documents, in accordance with existing procedures, for the following areas: inventory, transportation, volunteer mobilization;
  • Establish signage requirements and supervise the installation of signs on the routes;
  • Prepare materials for evening training sessions for course volunteers (timing, tasks, etc.) and train Discovery volunteers;
  • To be in the supervision vehicle on the course during the Tour de l'Île Découverte;
  • Produce logistical documents (maps: supervision areas, vehicle detour, supervisors; team timing, etc.);
  • Participate in the installation of course signage for the Défi Métropolitain, Tour de l'île découverte and other installations;
  • Train and supervise the work of the signage assistant and the volunteers who install and dismantle signs on the routes;
  • As needed, perform any other related tasks requested by the immediate supervisor to assist the team.
Requirements and skills
  • A college diploma;
  • Minimum of one year's work experience in event management;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Quality of oral and written French (writing e-mails, preparing documents and sharing training content);
  • Proficiency in Office suite and Google suite;
  • Knowledge of Google Maps and Ride with GPS (an asset);
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends and travel (route);
  • Valid driver's license (essential).
