Vélo Québec publishes magazines Vélo Mag (the only French-language cycling magazine in America!) and Québec Science (which won gold at the Canadian Magazine Awards 2025) as well as books, guides and maps in the fields of cycling, nature, science, sport and tourism.

Qa few words about the job

The Project Manager, Publishing Marketing plays a key role in the planning, coordination, promotion and distribution of Québec Science and Vélo Mag magazines. Working closely with the Vice-President, Marketing, Communications and Partnerships, he or she manages cross-functional communications and marketing projects, from concept to distribution. He or she coordinates the printing and distribution of magazines, while ensuring compliance with deadlines, budgets and quality standards.

More detailed responsibilities 

Publishing marketing

  • Manage publishing projects in collaboration with the publisher and internal and external partners;
  • Define schedules and deadlines for magazine production, printing and distribution;
  • Develop and deploy marketing strategies and communication campaigns;
  • Suggest actions to increase visibility and sales (by-products, advertising inserts);
  • Manage printing, distribution (print and digital) and relations with distributors;
  • Manage internal self-promotions with other members of the marketing team;
  • Develop and manage strategic and commercial partnerships;
  • Analyze printing and distribution options to optimize costs and reach.

Ad hoc projects

In addition to this role, the person recruited may be required to complete his/her schedule with ad hoc assignments for projects within the Vélo Québec group of a similar nature (communications, marketing).

Job requirements
  • University degree in communications, marketing or other relevant field; ;
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in marketing communications; ;
  • Project management skills ;
  • Excellent writing skills; ;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite ;
  • Experience in the publishing industry is an asset.

Permanent, full-time position (35h/week), Monday to Friday.
