Festival Go vélo Montréal 2023, May 28 to June 4: Julie Ringuette, new Festival spokesperson, a new route at Tour la Nuit and the return of the Tour de l'Île Découverte!

Montreal, Monday, March 13, 2023 - Vélo Québec today unveils the program for the Go vélo Montréal Festival, presented by Lait in collaboration with Desjardins, which will take place from May 28 to June 4. The major events - the Défi métropolitain, the Tour la Nuit and the Tour de l’Île de Montréal - will be an opportunity to get on your bike for a week of 100 % cycling, day and night. Register by April 3 and benefit from a better rate.

Vélo Québec is proud to announce that actress and host Julie Ringuette will be the new spokesperson and ambassador for this year's Festival Go vélo Montréal: « I was delighted to accept this invitation. I love cycling! For me, taking part in events like those offered by the Festival allows me to stay active while sharing precious moments with my family and friends. The party returns to the finish site in Maisonneuve Park

At this year's Tour de l'Île and Tour la Nuit, participants will enjoy entertainment, musical performances, rides and games at the finish site in Maisonneuve Park, as well as at the various relays along the routes!

Vélo Québec encourages young people and their parents to get moving as a family

At Tour la Nuit and Tour de l'Île, it's always FREE for 12 and under, and only 10 $ for 13-17 year-olds.

The Tour de l’Île de Montréal - Sunday, June 4: 4 route choices and the return of the Discovery formula

La 38e edition of the Tour de l’Île de Montréal offers 4 different route choices, ranging from 45 to 100 km:

  • A regular 45-km, car-free route from Maisonneuve Park to the north of the island.
  • And to the delight of cyclists, the return of the Discovery formula, with 3 route choices (50, 75 and 100 km) on a marked circuit in streets open to cars, except for the last 16 km, which will be done in the company of thousands of other regular Tour participants.

One Tour la Nuit - friday, june 2: a brand-new INDEED route 

Departing from Maisonneuve Park, the 24e edition of the Tour la Nuit offers an all-new 26-km, car-free route through the streets of 6 Montreal boroughs, from Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie to Mercier.Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, via Anjou.

International conference - Thursday 1er June

This year, the Festival will welcome the inspirational Camille Thomé, director of the French-based organization Vélo & Territoires. This organization, a member of European Cyclists’ Federation federates more than 170 French regions, départements and intercommunalités in a collective effort to build a France by bike in 2030, in terms of transportation, tourism and leisure.

The Metropolitan Challenge - Sunday May 28: discovering the Montérégie

The Défi métropolitain will start from Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville. Cyclists will take to the roads of the beautiful Montérégie region along the Richelieu River, passing through Mont Saint-Hilaire and Chambly. Choice of 61, 85, 96 and 145 km routes.
