Montréal, Wednesday, March 20, 2024 - Vélo Québec unveils today the 2024 program of the Go vélo Montréal Festival, presented by Lait in collaboration with Desjardins, from May 26 to June 2. Once again this year, the Festival promises a unique week of cycling activities in the heart of Greater Montreal, with its unifying events: the Défi Métropolitain, on May 25, and the Lait, on June 2.e Tour la Nuit and Tour de l’Île de Montréal. This edition will see the return of Parc Jeanne-Mance as the sole start and finish site (Tour la Nuit and Tour de l'Île), and of the sparkling Julie Ringuette as spokesperson.

The Metropolitan Challenge - sunday, may 26
The Défi métropolitain officially launches the Go vélo Montréal Festival, and with it, the summer cycling season. For this 22nde edition, cyclists will take to the roads of the beautiful Lanaudière region, starting from Terrebonne. They will pass through the municipalities of Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, Sainte-Sophie, Saint-Lin-des-Laurentides and Mascouche. Choice of routes from 60 to 163 km.
International conference - Thursday, May 30
This year, the Festival is delighted to welcome Marie-Astrid Leray, co-president of Boîtes à Vélo - France. This unique professional association, which works to develop professional cyclomobility for craftsmen, entrepreneurs and companies, now has almost 300 members. On this occasion, she will be demonstrating how cargo bikes, both for getting around and for transporting equipment, have the power to change our cities and our lives.
One Tour la Nuit - Friday May 31
Un Tour la nuit is the biggest cycling party in town. For the occasion, Montreal will be lit up with a thousand lights installed on the bikes and costumes of the cyclists who make this night-time ride so famous. Departing from Parc Jeanne-Mance, the 25e edition of the Tour la Nuit features a festive 24km, car-free route through the streets of 3 Montreal boroughs: Plateau-Mont-Royal, Ville-Marie and Sud-Ouest.
The Tour de l’Île de Montréal - Sunday, June 2
The Tour de l’Île de Montréal is THE big two-wheeled event of the year. For one day, you can discover the city in a different way, thanks to a lively itinerary reserved for bicycles. Departing from Parc Jeanne-Mance, cyclists will tour the south-western part of the city in two different ways: classic or discovery:
- Classic formula: 2 choices of route, 28 or 50 km, on car-free streets. Ideal for families with children or city bikers.
- Discovery formula: 2 choices of route, 68 or 96 km, on a marked circuit through streets open to cars, except for the last 23.7 km which will be done in the company of thousands of other participants on the classic route. Ideal for cycling enthusiasts.
Animation at Tour la Nuit and Tour de l’Île de Montréal
Participants will enjoy entertainment all along the routes, as well as at the start and finish of the events. At Parc Jeanne-Mance, cyclists will be welcomed to a festive site with games and rides, live performances (DJ, band, acrobatic show), a varied food offer, a souvenir store, and much more. Also new this year: before the Tour la Nuit kicks off, from 6 to 8 p.m., participants will be able to enjoy a dynamic and lively start site. On the program: foodtrucks to satisfy every craving, and a fun zone for the whole family.
Vélo Québec encourages young people and their parents to get moving as a family
At Tour la Nuit and Tour de l'Île, it's always FREE for 12 and under, and only 10 $ for 13-17 year-olds.
