Montréal, Tuesday, May 28, 2024 - Next weekend, the Go vélo Montréal Festival will be in full swing at the Tour la Nuit (Friday, May 31) and Tour de l’Île de Montréal (Sunday, June 2). As some streets will be closed to traffic and parking for a few hours, car travel may require a little more planning than usual.
To facilitate automobile travel and access to healthcare facilities, Vélo Québec has set up the INFOCIRCULATION page, bringing together all the tools needed to inform the public: www.velo.qc.ca/infocirculation.
- Visit Friday May 31, the departure of Tour la Nuit will take place at 8 p.m. in Parc Jeanne-Mance, at the corner of Avenue du Parc and Avenue Mont-Royal. A 24-km, car-free route through the streets of the following boroughs: Plateau Mont-Royal, Ville-Marie and Sud-Ouest. Consult the map of street closures.
- Visit Sunday, June 2, the start of the Tour de l’Île de Montréal will start at 9:15 a.m. in Parc Jeanne-Mance, at the corner of Avenue du Parc and Avenue Mont-Royal. A 28 km or 50 km car-free circuit through the streets of 10 Montreal boroughs: Plateau-Mont-Royal, Rosemont-Petite-Patrie, Outremont, Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Westmount, Sud-Ouest, Lasalle, Lachine, Verdun and Ville-Marie. On the course :
During the events, a number of volunteers, cadets and police officers will be positioned at the intersections of the blocked streets to direct motorists. These traffic wardens will provide those wishing to do so with a map of the event route and bypasses. Organizers would like to remind everyone that pedestrians and cyclists are welcome to cross the bike train at any time. Volunteers will be on hand to assist them.
Access to healthcare facilities :
Alternative measures have been put in place to ensure access to healthcare facilities located close to the routes. We recommend that you :
- Check with the establishment concerned before going there;
- Call Info-Santé at 811 before going to the emergency room of one of these establishments;
- Call 911 if the situation is urgent.
