Montréal, Friday, May 27, 2022 - This Sunday, May 29, Pointe-Calumet will welcome participants in the 20e edition of the Metropolitan challenge, the first major cyclosportive event of the season. Organized by Vélo Québec, this challenge kicks off the Go vélo Montréal Festival, presented by Producteurs de lait du Québec in collaboration with Desjardins, a festival unique in North America for its cycling activities, including the Tour la Nuit (Friday, June 3) and the Tour de l’Île de Montréal (Sunday, June 5).
To close the month of May, Bike Month, The Défi métropolitain offers cyclists the chance to pedal an untimed route of 50 to 140 km at their own pace and according to their fitness, while benefiting from unrivalled supervision. Each year, the event is an opportunity to discover a new part of the greater metropolitan area.
Vélo Québec would like to thank the Super Aqua Club, the start and finish of the challenge, as well as all the municipalities crossed by the Défi métropolitain route, especially the City of Pointe-Calumet and the City of Mirabel (St-Augustin), host of the lunch stop.
