Montreal, Thursday, May 23, 2024 - Terrebonne prepares to welcome participants of the 22e edition of the Défi métropolitain, the first major cyclosportive gathering of the season, takes place this Sunday, May 26. Organized by Vélo Québec, the Défi marks the start of the Go vélo Montréal Festival - presented by Lait in collaboration with Desjardins - a unique week of cycling activities featuring popular events such as Tour la Nuit (Friday, May 31) and Tour de l’Île de Montréal (Sunday, June 2).
The Défi métropolitain is designed for road cyclists and offers a choice of 60, 85, 97 and 163 km routes. Participants ride at their own pace and according to their fitness level, with no stress, no stopwatch, and unparalleled support. Registration includes: lunch, signposted route, professional supervision (mechanics and first aid), support vehicles, routes available at Ride with GPS, shuttle and car-sharing options. Each year, the event is an opportunity to discover a new part of the greater metropolitan area.
