Montreal, March 25, 2025 - Vélo Québec unveils the 2025 destinations for its two major cycling tourism events: the Grand Tour and the Petite Aventure. This summer, cycling enthusiasts can look forward to spectacular routes, welcoming villages and a festive atmosphere in four magnificent regions of Quebec.
The Grand Tour 2025: an edition between river, mountains and history
From August 2 to 7, 2025, the Grand Tour will offer cyclists an unforgettable experience in the Chaudière-Appalaches and Capitale-Nationale regions. This unique event, which attracts over a thousand participants every year, is aimed at cyclists of all levels, with a variety of routes to suit everyone.
This edition is also part of the festivities surrounding the 30th anniversary of the Route verte, which will feature several segments.
The mayor of Quebec City, Bruno Marchand, is delighted to be hosting this major event, and extends an invitation to cyclists of all levels: «We are proud to welcome the Grand Tour 2025 to Quebec City. It is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to get on your bike and experience this great adventure in our magnificent region. The Grand Tour is an opportunity to pedal through breathtaking scenery, while discovering our rich history, the warm welcome of our people, our restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. Come and enjoy a memorable experience, at your own pace, in the heart of Quebec City.»
The 2025 route will start in Saint-Anselme and lead cyclists to discover two emblematic host villages:
- La Ville de Québec - August 2 to 4, in Quartier Montcalm
- Montmagny - August 5 and 6, in the heart of the magnificent Côte-du-Sud region
«The Grand Tour offers a unique opportunity to pedal through exceptional landscapes and share unforgettable moments. This year, we have the honor of discovering Capitale-Nationale, a region that believes in the potential of cycling and is actively working to make it happen. With its breathtaking panoramas, quality cycling infrastructure and vibrant atmosphere, Quebec City is the ideal setting for our event,» says Jean-François Rheault, President and CEO, Vélo Québec.
