Tour la Nuit and Tour de l’Île de Montréal: on June 3 and 5, plan your trips with traffic information and Waze!

Montréal, May 30, 2022 - This weekend, the Go vélo Montréal Festival will be in full swing at the Tour la Nuit and Tour de l’Île de Montréal. As some streets will be closed to traffic and parking for a few hours, car travel may require a little more planning than usual. To facilitate car travel and access to health care facilities, Vélo Québec has set up the infocirculation web page, bringing together all the tools needed to inform the public.

Visit Friday June 3, the start of the Tour la Nuit will be given to 20 h, The 22-km route will start at 2 entry points in the La Fontaine and Maisonneuve parks. Cyclists will take to the streets of the following boroughs: Plateau Mont-Royal, RosemontLa-Petite-Patrie, MercierHochelaga-Maisonneuve and Ville-Marie.

Visit Sunday, June 5, the start of the Tour de l’Île de Montréal will be given to 9 h 30, from 3 entry points on the 36 km route, located in La, MacDonald and Angrignon parks. Cyclists will take to the streets of the following boroughs: Plateau Mont-Royal, Rosemont and Angrignon.La-Petite-Patrie, Outremont, Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Sud-Ouest, Verdun and Ville-Marie and the Ville de Westmount.

To keep the public informed of traffic conditions in real time during the Tour la Nuit and Tour de l'Île, the routes are available on the Waze application, enabling the public to opt for the best routes and avoid streets closed to vehicular traffic.

  • Wednesday 1er and Thursday, June 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday, June 3, 12 noon to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 5, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Access to healthcare facilities

Alternative measures have been put in place to ensure access to healthcare facilities located near the Tour la Nuit and Tour de l’Île de Montréal routes. The Réseau de la santé et de services sociaux de Montréal recommends that the public :

  • Check with the establishment concerned before going there;
  • Call Info-Santé at 811 before going to the emergency room of one of these establishments;
  • Call 911 if the situation is urgent.

During the events, a number of volunteers, cadets and police officers will be positioned at the intersections of the blocked streets to direct motorists. These traffic wardens will provide those wishing to do so with a map of the event route and bypasses. Organizers would like to remind everyone that pedestrians and cyclists are welcome to cross the bike train at any time. Volunteers will be on hand to assist them.
