Over the past year, we've been celebrating Vélo Québec's 50th anniversary in a variety of ways. In our communications, in our events, in our publications, we've talked about the milestones, the anecdotes and the people who made the organization what it is today.
We also wanted this year of festivities to end with a look to the future. That's why, last June, we launched a participatory process to imagine the Québec à vélo of tomorrow. Leaders and activists from the worlds of business, mobility, research, tourism, leisure and sport from eleven regions of Quebec enthusiastically took part. This led to the development of the Bicycle Vision 2025. Although the exercise had no scientific pretensions, the result of this collection of ideas is eloquent. It confirms that the bicycle is an issue present in all circles, and that it rallies an impressive variety of players in our society ready to pool their energies to advance its use.
Just as we had imagined in the most beautiful scenario, the launch of Bicycle Vision 2025, was held on November 16, in the presence of an incomparable assembly of partners, and in an absolutely wonderful atmosphere. The work is well underway! Over the coming weeks and months, we'll be working to raise awareness of Bicycle Vision 2025, build support and ensure that the movement gains even greater momentum.
