CONTENTS

Vélo Québec offers several cycling education programs, including :

  • Cycliste averti, a school-based program designed to help young people become safe and independent cyclists; ;
  • Toutes à vélo, learning activities by and for women with little or no cycling experience;

The Development Officer is part of the program deployment team. She is in charge of coordinating activities with the various program audiences, ensuring effective communication with the community (field partners, participants) and the proper assignment of teams (instructors, coaches, instructors) in the field.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

For the program Toutes à vélo :

  • Manage registrations and communications with participants;
  • Ensures the planning of field activities and the allocation of resources, and is in constant contact with teams to communicate their updated schedules;
  • Organize the distribution, maintenance and movement of bicycle fleets according to program needs;
  • Move around the environment to coordinate field activities (often the evening and the weekend).

For the program Cycliste averti :

  • Support the field team in on-road activities;
  • Participate in the production of individual student report cards.

Miscellaneous :

  • Participate in program evaluation data collection efforts;
  • Support the activities of Jardin du Petit monde à bicyclette, a bicycle education park located in Parc La Fontaine;
  • Perform any other related tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Under 30 years of age, citizen or permanent resident (Canada Summer Jobs program requirements);
  • Relevant diploma;
  • 0 to 2 years' experience in the field;
  • Experience of cycling as a means of urban transport;
  • Proficiency in Office suite;
  • Basic knowledge of bicycle mechanics an asset;
  • Sensitivity to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion;
  • Driver's license an asset.

NOMINATION AND OTHER DETAILS

  • Temporary position (June to August 2026), 30h/week, including evening and weekend activities.
  • Start date: early June 2026 (flexible start date)
  • Salary offered is 25$ per hour
