CONTENTS
Vélo Québec offers several cycling education programs, including :
- Cycliste averti, a school-based program designed to help young people become safe and independent cyclists; ;
- Toutes à vélo, learning activities by and for women with little or no cycling experience;
The Development Officer is part of the deployment team for these programs. The incumbent participates in the development of an electric-assist bicycle (EAB) training program for seniors, and supports the organization and development of activities designed to enable wider inclusion of people living with functional difficulties or limitations in their cycling activities.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
For the VAE training for seniors :
- Participate in the start-up of the project in partnership with two regional partners who will be responsible for its implementation in the field;
- Develop learning objectives, training structure and content;
- Develop relevant learning content (notebooks, presentation materials, activity sheets, assessment);
- Conduct participant observation during training sessions and recommend improvements where necessary.
For inclusion workshops :
- Support the external trainer in the preparation and implementation of a workshop on bicycle adaptation for people living with difficulties or functional limitations in cycling;
- Adapt tools to make training sustainable and reproducible in the future.
For tricycle loans :
- Set up a procedure for tricycle loans at Parc La Fontaine.
- Be responsible for communications with users.
- Ensure the smooth running of loans and equipment management.
Miscellaneous :
- Support the team in the day-to-day running of education programs;
- Perform any other related tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be under 30 years of age, a citizen or permanent resident (Canada Summer Jobs program requirements);
- Relevant diploma;
- 0 to 2 years' experience in the field;
- Experience of cycling as a means of urban transport;
- Proficiency in Office suite;
- Basic knowledge of bicycle mechanics an asset;
- Sensitivity to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion;
- Experience with an electrically-assisted bicycle (EAB) is an asset;
- Driver's license an asset.
NOMINATION AND OTHER DETAILS
- Temporary position - June to August 2026(10 weeks), 30h/week.
- Start date: early June 2026 (flexible start date)
- Salary offered is 25$/hour
