Quebec has a rich cycling tourism offering, made up of a multitude of bike routes, circuits and mountain bike centers.
To make Quebec an attractive cycling destination for Quebecers, Canadians and international cyclists, a joint project called the Grande traversée was launched in 2023.
As part of this initiative, Vélo Québec organized meetings in 14 regions of the province, in addition to consulting with 6 industry groups. These 20 workshops, attended by over 520 people, identified common problems, as well as the assets and constraints specific to each region, and generated a host of ideas for boosting bicycle tourism.
You will find below the roadmap for the development of bicycle tourism that was developed following this extensive consultation exercise. This roadmap identifies 15 actions to be implemented by 2030 to make bicycle tourism an accessible and distinctive offering in Quebec.
