From May 1 to 31, 2026, join us for celebrate cycling across Québec. Whether for pleasure, sport or discovery, get out your bikes and take part in the Bike Month Challenge and cycling activities near you!

How can I take part in the challenge?
- Download the Geovelo application
Create an account or log in if you already have one. - Join a community
- Thanks to the invitation link or QR code sent by the community administrator
- Search for the community on the Geovelo app or website, then insert the invitation code if it's a private group.
- Record your activities!
Remember to register your bike trips to contribute to the challenge.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do I record my journeys?
- Navigation : calculate and follow an itinerary in the Geovelo application, your kilometers will be recorded
- Manual recording : start recording by pressing the “Record” button in the application.
- Automatic recording : feature to be activated to automatically start and stop recording
- according to the activity detected by the phone,
- Import gpx : for journeys made via other applications, from geovelo.app
- Garmin: connect your Garmin account to Geovelo
Is it possible to take part without a telephone?
No, the Bike Month Challenge only counts trips registered in Geovelo. This limitation is explained on the one hand by the desire to reliable results, on the one hand, and the’help communities better understand bicycle travel and optimize their layouts accordingly.
Why doesn't my track seem to be included in the Challenge?
For registered journeys, check the following criteria:
- Check in your profile that the trip is not being processed (hourglass logo).
- Only journeys made after joining the community will be accounted for.
- Check the Challenge type:
- Public challenges only km covered within your territory are taken into account
- Private challenges all km are taken into account
For imported GPX routes, check the following criteria:
- Your track is imported within 48 hours
- Your track makes less than 150km
- Your trace has a duration of less than 12h
My journeys are not recorded (or recorded incorrectly)
If you encounter any registration problems with the
- Check that the parameters required for the application to function properly are activated:
- Go to Settings > Tracking & Navigation > Tracking & Navigation Permission required and/or Recording problems
It is not possible to add manually on your profile of unregistered kilometers (if you forgot to register a trip, or the application failed to detect it, it will not be possible to “catch up”).
