On the occasion of COP26, Vélo Québec joins 160 cycling organizations around the world in reminding everyone that cycling is a simple and effective solution for fighting climate change. With this joint letter, we urge our government officials to :
- Promote cycling in all its forms: recreational, utilitarian and sporting;
- Recognize its health, economic and environmental benefits;
- Develop safe, user-friendly cycling infrastructures;
- Support national programs to encourage the use of bicycles rather than cars.
