Montreal, Friday, September 5, 2025 - Vélo Québec and Vélo Mag invite cycling enthusiasts of all levels to take part tomorrow, Saturday, September 6, in the Eastern Townships Vélo Mag Challenge. Departures will take place between 7 and 10 a.m. at the foot of Mont-Orford. The last cycling event of the season for Vélo Québec, the event brings to a close a busy year following the Défi métropolitain, the Tour la nuit, the 40e Tour de l'Île, La Petite aventure and Grand Tour.
Courses for everyone
The Eastern Townships Vélo Mag Challenge offers a variety of routes to suit all cyclists:
Road cycling: 51, 89, 105, 119 or 135 km (altitude difference from 586 to 1300 m)
Vélo de gravelle: 54, 68, 79 or 97 km (gradients from 727 to 1045 m)
As always with Vélo Québec, everyone can ride at their own pace and enjoy the pleasure of cycling together.
Ride serenely, celebrate fully
Vélo Québec provides a range of services to ensure that every participant gets the most out of the adventure: marked routes, supervision, assistance vehicles, first aid, mechanical assistance and lunch at the lunch stop.
Before the start, cyclists can enjoy a cup of coffee at the Escape Café kiosk. And at the finish line, it's time to celebrate: everyone gathers at the bistro for a toast with a Siboire beer.
The Eastern Townships in the spotlight
The Eastern Townships Vélo Mag Challenge is the perfect opportunity to discover the region's enchanting landscapes and picturesque villages. Each year, the event highlights a new area: Sutton in 2023, Bromont in 2024, and this year, participants will discover Orford, Eastman and Valcourt, among others.
Of the 800 or so participants, 92 % came from outside the Eastern Townships, giving the region a high profile and contributing to its economic spin-offs.
