Montreal, Thursday, April 18, 2024 - The result of several months' work and research, the Purchasing Assistants proposed by the magazine Vélo Mag each year have established themselves as benchmarks for cycling in Quebec. While the March issue focused on road and gravel bikes, the April issue focuses on mountain bikes. Aware that this is the time of year when consumers are shopping for bikes for the summer season, the magazine offers a complete guide for anyone wanting to buy a mountain bike or learn about the major trends in 2024.

« The equipment shortage is behind us. Instead, manufacturers and retailers are overstocking. Now's the time to buy a mountain bike. The stores» warehouses are full, and there's a wide range on offer, including electric-assist bikes and models for juniors. Take advantage of it, we've never seen so many discounts in spring! - says Jacques Sennéchael, Editor-in-Chief, Vélo Mag.

The major «mountain» trends for 2024

  • Featherweight electric assistance: electrically-assisted mountain bikes are lighter and behave more like muscle bikes.
  • Youth: juniors are better equipped for mountain biking.
  • Transmission: more robust and diversified.

Also in the magazine: 30 years of Grand Tour

Quebec's most important cycling event celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Vélo Mag takes you on a journey through 30 milestones, complete with figures, dates, memories and anecdotes. A report not to be missed!
