Montréal, March 27, 2023 - Jean-François Rheault, President and CEO of Vélo Québec, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stéphane Blais as the organization's Director of Expertise and Research. He takes up his new position today.
Trained as an engineer, Mr. Blais was until recently head of the bicycle section at the Ville de Montréal. Prior to this, he worked as an engineer and head of the street planning section. With this background in mobility and management, he will now be responsible for expertise and research at Vélo Québec.
Among his accomplishments in recent years, Stéphane has made a major contribution to traffic calming in the Plateau Mont-Royal borough, to the deployment of REV Saint-Denis and the innovations associated with its development, and to the planning of the 2023-2027 Bicycle Vision.
