Montreal, March 14, 2022 - Once again this year, cycling is the order of the day, and the magazine Vélo Mag publishes its shopping assistant in this particular context. On the menu in this 2022 edition: ideas for finding a bike despite the shortage, a look at the season's trends, advice for beginners, suggestions for bikes and accessories that caught our eye.

«Bikes are becoming increasingly popular and harder to find. Consumers are going to have to work harder, widen their search area and, above all, be patient. The pleasure of finding the model of their dreams will be all the greater. Cycling is more than ever synonymous with escapism, and is increasingly taking to the gravel roads and woodland trails. And that's no reason to stop, especially at 2 $ per liter of petrol», points out Jacques Sennéchael, editor-in-chief of Vélo Mag.

The bikes of 2022

 The gravel bike

Equally at home on asphalt or on dirt roads, they are becoming increasingly diversified to suit a wide range of riding styles. From performance to touring, it's the tool of choice for getting off the beaten track.

Electric-assist bicycles

Autonomy is no longer a problem. It gives you the boost you need for longer outings, more challenging routes and to keep up with friends in better shape.

Mountain biking

Mountain biking trails have never been so plentiful. And just as well, the number of mountain bikers is exploding, across all segments of the population.

Also to be read in the very first issue of the year...

Why do minorities use bicycles so little? Our reporter dug into this question by meeting those who want to make things happen. Also, our explorer Jonathan B. Roy takes the cycling temperature in a new country with each edition. First stop: Marrakech, Morocco. All this and more!
