Vélo Québec and the Professional Mountain Bike Instructors Association (PMBIA) are proud to announce the official launch of the PMBIA Level 1 certification course documents, now fully translated into French and available to participants. This initiative is part of a partnership between Vélo Québec and PMBIA aimed at improving access to French-language educational resources, supporting the provision of French-language training in Quebec, and increasing the number of French-speaking certified mountain bike instructors in the province.
Thanks to this initiative, French-speaking practitioners and instructors in Quebec now have access to PMBIA's «Instructor Level 1» course, fully translated into French. This translation enables us to offer training content in line with the standards established by the PMBIA since 2006. This project, partly financed by a Quebec government grant obtained by Vélo Québec, supports PMBIA's mission to promote excellence and consistency in mountain bike education worldwide, while reinforcing Vélo Québec's mandate to offer quality, safe and accessible training in the province.
«Making our flagship Level 1 training available in French represents an important step for the inclusion and professional development of instructors and coaches,» said Suki Cheyne, Executive Director of PMBIA. «We are grateful to Vélo Québec for its expertise and leadership in making these resources available.»
This collaboration will help increase the number of certified French-speaking instructors, improving the safety and experience of mountain bikers across Quebec.
