Montreal, Thursday, March 7, 2019 - Every March, the magazine Vélo Mag publishes its popular Road bike buying guide, which lists several frame models. In this 2019 edition, on newsstands today, the magazine features the season's key trends, a primer on what's new from bike and accessory manufacturers, advice on making the right choices, and the bikes that caught the eye of the editorial specialists. Vélo Mag is also taking advantage of the start of the new season to give itself a facelift with a new graphic grid - colorful headlines, flamboyant colors and photos - and, on the content side, new columns and collaborations. The Mountain Bike Buying Guide will follow in April.

Road bike buying guide

The editors have selected over a dozen bikes and accessories to meet the needs of as many people as possible. This year, the bikes on the market are more versatile. They can be ridden anywhere, even on the back roads. The typical 2019 bike has an electromechanical transmission, a 12-speed cassette, a single front chainring, disc brakes and tires wide enough to tackle the worst potholes in Quebec!

«The bikes of 2019 can do it all, whether on asphalt or trails. This versatility favors practicality, and that's until the electric-assist bike tsunami arrives,» says Jacques Sennéchael, editor-in-chief of Vélo Mag.

New Vélo Mag, new content

In addition to a change in graphics, Vélo Mag kicks off 2019 with new columns reflecting the vitality of the cycling world. The Spokesperson column focuses on the people who support the cycling cause. The Ça bouge column focuses on manufacturers, retailers and organizers who are keen to introduce new products. A renewed mechanical column is also on the program, and will be featured in every issue. As for new collaborations, well-known globetrotter Jonathan B. Roy will recount his many anecdotes of bicycle travel.
