Montreal, Tuesday, May 1, 2018 - This year again, Vélo Québec proclaims the month of May, Quebec Bike Month. The start of the season is the perfect time to encourage Quebecers to get on their bikes and get around. It's also an opportunity to remind everyone - pedestrians, cyclists and motorists - of the importance of sharing the road harmoniously.
As part of Bike Month, Vélo Québec is offering cyclists the chance to take part in a wide range of activities. cycling activities organized for the occasion in the regions of Quebec. Vélo Québec also takes advantage of its platform to broadcast tips & tricks to get the season off on the right foot.
New this year: the Bike Month Challenge!
This year, Vélo Québec is launching the Bike Month Challenge. From May 1 to 31, participants are invited to cycle for at least 10 minutes during the month, to record their journey and, above all, to encourage those around them to do the same! You can sign up as an individual or as part of a team, with colleagues or on behalf of an organization. Companies and establishments are invited to engage in friendly competition to see who can convince the greatest number of employees to cycle in May. Bicycle Month in Quebec is a campaign of Vélo Québec, presented by Sports Experts, made possible by financial assistance from the Quebec government through Component III of the Public Transit Development Program, which aims to promote alternative modes of transportation to the automobile. This program is part of the 2013-2020 Action Plan on Climate Change, financed by the Green Fund.
