Montréal, January 13, 2021 -  Vélo Québec today unveils the names of the 6 communities and 11 organizations recognized at the 9e certification round VELOSYMPATHIC movement. Since the program began, a total of 31 communities and 77 organizations have demonstrated their commitment to making cycling a real transportation and leisure option for all.

«It's encouraging to see that, despite the pandemic, communities and organizations are continuing their efforts to facilitate cycling, anticipating and accompanying the unprecedented popularity of this healthy and safe activity. Many citizens rediscovered the pleasure of cycling for leisure during the initial containment period. When they return to work after the second lockdown, they'll realize that it's never been easier to get around by bike! Many of the certifiers in this round were applying for a second time, and they've risen to the challenge: their commitment to sustainable mobility continues, to the delight of their residents, workers and visitors alike,» states Magali Bebronne, program director at Vélo Québec.

The VELOSYMPATHIC movement is an initiative of Vélo Québec made possible by the support of the Ministry of Transport, through the Road Safety Fund financial assistance program.
