Georeferencing trails

The georeferencing of mountain bike trails is an initiative aimed at documenting the practice sites located on public land in order to better preserve them. This project is being carried out in collaboration with the Ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur and other national outdoor recreation organizations.

The georeferencing of mountain bike trails is an initiative aimed at documenting the practice sites located on public land in order to better preserve them. Logging and cottage construction, for example, cause the loss of trails, campsites and public access.

Through this initiative, Vélo Québec will provide reliable and complete information that will be integrated into the databases of the Ministère de l'Énergie et des Ressources naturelles (MERN), thus contributing to the preservation of trails.
