Repair stations and community workshops

More and more self-service repair stations and community bike workshops are being offered to the cycling community across Quebec. Consult the map to see where they are located.

Self-service repair stations

For on-the-go repairs, there are self-service repair stations. Located in a public space and accessible at all times, the stations usually include a pump and the most common tools for making small repairs. This can come in handy when a mechanical problem arises unexpectedly!

Community bike mechanics workshops

Community bike workshops are places where cyclists can maintain and repair their own bikes, under the supervision of mechanics.

Community workshops are often run by amateur mechanics on a voluntary basis. You can start out as a simple user, then develop enough knowledge to help new cyclists if you want to get more involved. Many workshops are affiliated with universities or CEGEPs, and are part of initiatives supported by the students themselves.

Before you visit, be sure to contact the workshops to check the accuracy of the information, and to find out about their specific features and the services they offer.

All workshops offer :
  • tools - from the simplest (allen wrench) to the most specialized (bowl remover)
  • advice from volunteers who guide you, without doing the repairs for you
  • used parts at very low prices (brakes, pedals, reflectors, nuts)
  • new parts at low prices (tubes, tires, brake pads, cables and sheaths)
And the cost?

Most workshops offer two types of rates:

  • annual membership (25 $ to 50 $)
  • cost to use (7 $ to 10 $)
