Planning and maintaining fatbike trails in Quebec

Aimed at trail managers, this guide is intended to support volunteer, municipal and tourism organizations in the development and maintenance of fatbike trails, so that growth and improvement of the experience continue. It is the result of surveys, consultations and exchanges carried out in the field during the 2018-2019 season.

A guide for trail managers

Vélo Québec would like to thank the volunteers and trail managers who participated in the consultation sessions that led to the development of this document.

The techniques and equipment presented in this guide are the fruit of experiments conducted by these dedicated volunteers and managers since fatbike emerged in Quebec in 2014.

Their experiments continue: new equipment, techniques and methods are constantly being developed and improved.
