Vélo Québec offers customized training in cycling coaching for clubs, associations and event organizers wishing to train their staff. Contact us if you're interested in customized training.

Topics covered

• Highway code and enforcement
• Safety measures, problem detection and intervention
• Potentially dangerous cycling maneuvers, identification and intervention
• Communication of safety codes and messages
• Intervention with participants: how can we intervene appropriately with cyclists to reassure, repair a mechanical problem, advise, encourage and intervene in the event of an accident?
• Basic adjustments to adapt bikes to cyclists' morphology

Course

The course can accommodate up to 13 participants (minimum 8).

The training takes place in two stages:

THEORETICAL PART - face-to-face / virtual - 3h
Friday - 6 to 9 p.m.

N.B. The theory portion will also be available by videoconference for those unable to travel on Friday evening, or who wish to limit their travel. The practical part of the course on the following day, however, will only be offered in person.

PRACTICAL PART - outdoors - 8h
Saturday - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Cyclists' House

You must bring :

• lunch
• your bike
• recommended tools for emergency road repairs (a list of tools required will be sent to you upon registration)

Our certified cycling coaches are Vélo Québec members and enjoy a host of benefits.

Certification is valid for five (5) years. In order to renew your certification, Vélo Québec will contact you 6 to 8 weeks before the end of its validity to evaluate your knowledge, field experience and event organizer references.
