29 August 2021

Montreal, Sunday, August 29, 2021 - At 2 p.m. today, the last cyclists of the Tour de l’Île de Montréal completed their 33-kilometer loop. On an absolutely perfect day, 9,000 cyclists took part in a brand-new version of this great cycling classic - with no single start and finish site, but 8 access points scattered along the route - to discover Montreal in a whole new way.

HIGHLIGHTS

A successful Tour de l’Île de Montréal in a new formula!

This 36e edition of Tour de l’Île de Montréal was an opportunity for two-wheeled enthusiasts to get together to host the most beautiful parade of happy cyclists, in the heart of the city and to the rhythm of cycling. All the ingredients were in place for a unique Sunday for cyclists. The simple pleasure of riding through the streets of a car-free city and celebrating a memorable back-to-school season, all on bikes.

Tour la Nuit a 22e luminous edition

On Friday, August 27, a magnificent illuminated train of 8,000 cyclists unfurled along 22 km of car-free streets, to mark the 22e edition of Tour la Nuit. Lights, colorful outfits and cyclists of all ages were out under the stars, ready to light up the Montreal night.

Défi métropolitain: the early-season classic!

On July 31, 1,650 cyclists took part in the Défi métropolitain from Châteauguay, on a beautiful summer Saturday to kick off the Festival Go vélo Montréal events.

Conference by Christophe Najdovski : Bicycles and the great transformation of Paris

As it does every year, the festival put the spotlight on the major issues related to the place occupied by bicycles in major cities, notably at the conference given by Christophe Najdovski, Deputy Mayor of Paris, which took place via videoconference on June 3. He came to take stock of the impact of the ambitious 2015-2020 Bicycle Plan, which has transformed Paris in terms of mobility.

THANK YOU!

Thank you to all our partners, to the thousands of cyclists and volunteers, and to the citizens who made this great collective celebration so unique!
