Cycling tourism is a particularly popular activity, generating significant economic spin-offs.

It's the activity that best embodies the principles of sustainable, slow, responsible tourism, with its many benefits for our communities.

More than any other mode of travel, bicycle tourism is a way of spreading income over the entire territory.

In 2024, Vélo Québec, in collaboration with the Transat Chair in Tourism a study of the economic impact of bicycle tourism. This research will not only provide a profile of bicycle tourists and excursionists in our various regions, but also measure the economic impact of their visits and activities in our regions.

Whether they are day-trippers, tourists who cycle independently or make cycling the main activity of their trip, or visitors who experiment with cycling during their stay, cycling tourists are a powerful lever for the economic development of our regions.
