Launching the 2018 season of the Cycliste averti program!

Montreal, Wednesday, May 9, 2018 - Vélo Québec, in collaboration with Quebec government and the City of Montreal, launches the 4th season of the Cycliste averti. The Cycliste averti program teaches 5th and 6th graders how to ride a bike safely and independently. The program combines theoretical and practical instruction, giving students the opportunity to experience cycling safely on the road. The program's deployment is made possible by the strong support of government, municipal and community partners who are convinced of the importance of cycling for the younger generation.

  • M. Eric Alan Caldwell, responsible for urban planning, transportation and the Office de consultation publique de Montréal on the executive committee of the Ville de Montréal;
  • Ms. Marianne Giguère, associate councillor for sustainable development and active transportation on the executive committee of the City of Montreal;
  • M. François Rémillard, Vice-President, Public Affairs, Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec ;
  • Mr. Benoît-Hugo St-Pierre, Partnership Manager, Québec en Forme;
  • M. François Bouchard, physical education teacher, Sainte-Louise-de-Marillac school;
  • Ms. Suzanne Lareau, president and CEO of Vélo Québec.
