Vélo Québec offers companies and organizations activities that can take the form of a conference or workplace kiosk to encourage the use of bicycles as a means of transportation.

Conference

  • Presentation followed by a question period. Possibility of holding the conference in virtual format.
  • Duration: 45 minutes

Cycling as a mode of transport - tips and advice

Demystifies urban cycling and provides tips and advice on how to ride comfortably. The conference will teach you how to equip your bike and avoid theft, then give you the key pointers for pedaling in an urban environment.

 

Safe driving

Presents the basic rules to follow when cycling, and helps you learn more about the best practices to adopt for safe cycling.

The advantages of cycling

Learn about the benefits of active transportation in general, and the benefits of cycling in particular. The conference will convince participants that cycling is the ideal means of transportation.

Winter cycling

Demystifies cold-weather cycling with practical tips for comfortable riding. These include tips on how to dress, how to prepare your bike and how to ride safely in winter.

Mechanical demonstration

Presents the various basic set-ups and adjustments that can be made on a bike in real-life conditions.

Mechanical kiosk

If you'd like to set up a mechanics' booth, two Vélo Québec mechanics will perform basic bike tune-ups, fill out a diagnostic sheet and answer participants' questions about everyday cycling.

  • Offered in a frequented area of the organization (e.g. lobby, cafeteria).
  • Duration: 2 hours (possibility of 12 tune-ups, 20 minutes per bike)
  • Cost : 755 $ +tx
  • 160$ +tx for 1 additional hour.

Awareness booth

Two Vélo Québec animators answer participants' and visitors' questions interactively at a kiosk. Documentation (best practices booklet, maps) and demonstration material are also available.

  • Offered in a frequented area of the organization (e.g. lobby, cafeteria).
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Cost : 570 $ +tx
  • 105$ +tx for 1 additional hour.

Hybrid kiosk

The best of both worlds! A Vélo Québec host answers participants' questions, while a Vélo Québec mechanic tunes up participants' bikes.

  • Offered in a frequented area of the organization (e.g. lobby, cafeteria).
  • Duration: 2 hours (possibility of 6 tune-ups, 20 minutes per bike)
  • Cost : 650 $ +tx
  • 105$ +tx for 1 additional hour.

Practical workshop - cycling in an urban environment

One or two facilitators come to your company and accompany a group of employees on a trip of a few kilometers around the site. The aim of the workshop is to train employees in safe cycling as part of their job.

  • Electrically-assisted bicycle (EAB) practice module optional.
  • Duration 2h (2h30 with VAÉ module)
  • Cost :
    • 0 to 6 participants (1 instructor), 740 $ + tx | 800 $ + tx with VAÉ module
    • 7 to 12 participants (2 facilitators), 900 $ + tx| 1 020 $ + tx with VAÉ module
