Romania and the Balkans are little known to Quebec cyclists, so your thirst for adventure will make them all the more interesting. We travelled the length and breadth of these countries by tandem in 2019 and 2022, and were dazzled by the change of scenery, the culture and the incredible melting pot of successive civilizations. These old countries, whose history dates back to long before the implosion of the USSR in 1991, are full of ancient villages, towns with medieval architecture that is often breathtakingly beautiful, and fabulous landscapes.
