A few years ago, I decided to take a long-distance trip along the Silk Road. Then, one day when I was out for a bike ride, I said to myself, «Why not take this trip by bike? Just a little idea that passed by without me taking it seriously, which ended up turning into a real obsession.

Two years and a pandemic later, on a rainy day, I'm riding down the main street of the village where I grew up in the Basque country on a bike I've assembled especially for the trip. That same bike would carry me for 2 years to Japan, via the Persian deserts, the Kazakh steppes and the Himalayan passes.
