Prologue

A tip of the hat

Just a few words to say a big thank you to all the organizers of cycling events and to all the enthusiastic volunteers who work so hard to bring us great emotions. You deserve not only our congratulations, but also our active participation.

Podium

Simone Boilard: head and legs

Simone Boilard is not content to extract herself from the limbo to which she seemed confined since her third-place finish at the World Junior Championships in Innsbruck in 2018. She escapes, as she would an indolent peloton, with the panache we've come to expect from her.

My stars

Quebecers in Western Canada

They set off to see if the grass was greener next door... and if the mountain bike trails were more exhilarating. The result: they settled there and now make a living from their passion. Meet Audrey, Vaea and Alex.

Cycling in Morocco's High Atlas Mountains

Old-fashioned mountain biking

For hundreds of years, the Berbers of the Moroccan High Atlas have been unknowingly shaping an immense network of world-class mountain bikes. Their tool of choice: the repeated passage of mules.

Destinations

Vancouver in five itineraries

Visiting British Columbia's beautiful metropolis? Why not explore the area by bicycle? Choose from five day-long itineraries departing from downtown. Portrait of a city with cycling in its genes.

Heartfelt stories in Chaudières-Appalaches

Between Montmagny and Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, the road is straight but the stops are many and varied! Welcome to Chaudière-Appalaches.

Temiscamingue, a land of gravel

This little-known region should be on every self-respecting mountain biker's radar.

Reports

Paracycling: the planet meets up in Quebec

This season, the world's paracycling elite will be in Quebec. The city of Charlesbourg will host the World Cup final from August 4 to 7 (and not Baie-Comeau, as indicated in the magazine currently on newsstands), and Baie-Comeau the World Championships from August 11 to 14. It's an opportunity to shine a spotlight on these athletes and their various practices.

Bromont, or how to become a cycling mecca

«Spectacular» is the first word that comes to mind when you see the new Sylvan Adams velodrome - center multisports Desjardins, in BromontA roof and a track aren't the only new features, it's the mecca of cycling that's being built in Bromont.

Techno

Close protection: managing risk

Every mountain bike outing exposes us to risk. No matter how good we are, a fall is undesirable, but still possible. It can happen for any number of reasons: skill, weather, terrain, mechanical failure, bad luck and so on. Of course, it's impossible to prevent every eventuality, but protective equipment will keep our outings enjoyable and, if need be, minimize the damage.

Bike test

Rocky Mountain Element Carbon 70

Down-country is like trail biking on a diet or cross-country on steroids... the choice is yours! To get a taste, we tested the Rocky Mountain Element Carbon 70, 29" size. We weren't disappointed.

Training

Lessons from the track

In the cycling world, track cycling is something of an alien. Yet all cyclists would benefit from being inspired by the main principles that dictate the training of specialists in this discipline.

Nutrition

Diabetes and cycling: planning is key

In Quebec, around 1.2 million people are affected by diabetes, a disease that requires close monitoring of eating habits. For athletes, planning their diet requires even more discipline. In this sense, diabetic cyclists can greatly benefit from adapted nutrition that will help them ride better!
