Festival Go vélo Montréal: thousands of cyclists take to the streets of Montreal on May 29 and 31

Montreal, Thursday, May 28, 2026 - As thousands of cyclists take to the streets of the city for the Go vélo Montréal festival on Friday, May 29 and Sunday, May 31, the Ville de Montréal and Vélo Québec are informing the public that there will be major traffic impacts in certain central boroughs.

The Tour la Nuit, on May 29, and the Tour de l’Île de Montréal, on May 31, will bring together thousands of cyclists of all ages. These festive, family-friendly events, starting and finishing in Parc Jarry, are designed to promote cycling and celebrate active mobility in Montreal. This year, the routes will take in the boroughs of :

  • Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Saint-Laurent and Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension (Tour la Nuit);
  • Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, Le Sud-Ouest, Outremont, Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie, Ville-Marie and Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension (Tour de l'Île).

Street closures and parking restrictions are expected along the routes. The city is asking residents to respect parking restrictions, plan their trips and encourage public transport and active mobility.
