Cyclist and adventure photographer Louise Philipovitch has forged a solid reputation in the bikepacking world. Her logbook bears witness to a number of major expeditions: six months across the European massifs to the deserts of Morocco, two months in the heart of the Caucasus mountains in Armenia and Georgia. A lover of extreme challenges, she has also taken on the Wendigo - 200 kilometers on a fatbike at -26°C - and the Cycling Wesfjords Challenge, a 1,000-kilometer event in Iceland.

A conference with a taste of adventure
In the summer of 2025, Louise and her traveling companion Justin spent three months criss-crossing Western and Northern Canada. Their itinerary took them from Vancouver Island to the rugged peaks of the Chilcotin Mountains, before heading up the mythical Dempster Highway to the legendary Canol Heritage Trail. This ancient route, abandoned since the Second World War, remains one of the most isolated and demanding in the country.

Throughout their adventure, the duo had to cope with prolonged food self-sufficiency, risk management related to wildlife, particularly bears, and numerous logistical challenges. But beyond these challenges, this journey was above all an immersion in the immensity of Canada's Far North, rich in contrasting landscapes and biodiversity.
